Derrick is a senior majoring in English and international development, with minors in Russian language and literature and medieval and early modern studies. He was a 2010 Dean’s Grant recipient for field research on phonemic awareness in pre-primary education in Losho, Kenya and a 2011 Georges Lurcy Grant recipient for ESL/TESL/TESOL certification and curriculum research and development.
